Indian Clearing Corporation Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSE, serves as the central counterparty for all trades executed on the BSE trading platform and guarantees the settlement of all bona fide trades executed by providing full novation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BSE Institute Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSE, operates one of the nation&#8217;s most prestigious capital market educational institutions. BSE has also launched BSE Sammaan, a CSR exchange that aims to connect corporations with verified NGOs. The S&amp;P BSE <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/blog\/difference-between-sensex-and-nifty\/\">SENSEX<\/a>, BSE&#8217;s popular equity index, is India&#8217;s most widely followed stock market benchmark index. In addition to Saturdays and Sundays, the trade will not occur on these days in 2022. On these trading holidays, the equity sector, equity derivative segment, and SLB segment will be closed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is the complete list of trading holidays for the year 2022, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, which are by default trading holidays. The last list also includes the holidays that fall on Saturdays and Sundays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Republic Day on January 26 is the only holiday that occurs in January. In March, there are two holidays for Maha Shivratri and Holi on March 1 and March 18, respectively. In April, there are two holidays: Mahavir\/Ambedkar Jayanti on Thursday, April 14, and Good Friday on Friday, April 15, 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only trade holiday in the month of May is on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, for Ramzan Id. Except for Saturdays and Sundays, there are no trading holidays in June and July. On August 9, 2022 (Tuesday), August 15 (Monday), and August 31 (Wednesday), there are three holidays for Muharram, Independence Day, and Ganesh Chaturthi, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are no weekday holidays during September 2022. The October 5 (Wednesday), October 24 (Monday), and October 26 (Wednesday) trading holidays correspond to Dussehra, Diwali, and Diwali Balipratipada, respectively. The only trading holiday in November 2022 is on Tuesday, November 8, for Gurunanak Jayanti. There are no trading holidays falling on Saturdays or Sundays in December 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The five annual holidays of Ram Navami, Maharashtra Day, Bakri Id, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, and Christmas all fall on Sundays, so there are no specific holidays designated for these occasions. The stock exchanges may change or alter any of the listed holidays, and any such changes will be communicated in advance via a separate circular.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, according to the MCX holidays 2022 list, the morning session will be closed on all 13 trade holidays, while the evening session will be open for commodity trading on market holidays such as Mahashivratri, Holi, Ambedkar Jayanti\/Mahavir Jayanti, Ramzan Id, and Muharram, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra, Diwali, Balipratipada, and Guru Nanak Jayanti. It is essential to note that trading holidays and clearing holidays are distinct. On trading holidays, the market is closed and no trading occurs, whereas on clearing holidays, banks are closed but the market is open.
