It is one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world and has operations in over 19 countries. The company designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains wind turbine generators (WTGs) for wind power projects. It offers a range of WTG models with capacities ranging from 1.25 megawatts (MW) to 6.15 MW. Suzlon also provides services such as wind resource assessment, site development, project management, and maintenance and repair of wind turbines. In addition to wind energy, the company is also involved in the development of solar energy projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is a privately held company. The company was founded by Tulsi Tanti in 1995, he served as the Chairman and Managing Director of the company until 2012. They were the largest shareholders in the company and were heavily involved in its management until they sold a controlling stake of the company to the New Silk Route, a private equity firm, in 2012.
