The Nifty 50 index rose 14.93% in FY19 and 10.25% in the previous fiscal year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2753\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kuvera.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Sensex-Vs-Small-Cap-FY-19.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"931\" height=\"487\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Sensex-Vs-Small-Cap-FY-19.png 931w, https:\/\/kuvera.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Sensex-Vs-Small-Cap-FY-19-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/kuvera.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Sensex-Vs-Small-Cap-FY-19-768x402.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 931px) 100vw, 931px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There was a significant divergence in the performance of <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/all\/equity\/large-cap-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">large cap<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/all\/equity\/small-cap-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">small cap<\/a>\u00a0funds during this financial year as <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/all\/equity\/mid-cap-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MidCap<\/a> and SmallCap indices saw a fall of 3.03% and 11.57% respectively in FY19, after a stellar run in the previous two financial years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>In <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.kuvera.in\/category\/conversations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Conversations<\/a>,<\/strong> we \u00a0reached out to Mr Harish Bihani, Fund Manager of <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/icici-prudential-smallcap-growth--8034-GR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICICI Prudential Small Cap Fund<\/a> over email for comments on the small cap space and their view behind their timing to allow lumpsum investment in this fund.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>As the financial year ended, we saw last minute inflows into <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/all\/others\/equity-index-funds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ELSS<\/a> funds.<\/strong> 2 of the most invested schemes during this week were ELSS schemes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/funds\/icici\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICICI Prudential Mutual fund<\/a> has launched the <strong>NFO for <a href=\"https:\/\/kuvera.in\/explore\/icici-prudential-bharat-consumption-growth--IC9551-GR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICICI Prudential Bharat Consumption Fund<\/a>.<\/strong> This open-ended equity scheme following the consumption theme will have Nifty India Consumption Index as its benchmark.
