This setup is important for limit orders because it decides how the trade happens and how the money moves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a limit order is made through a GIFT City platform the trade is handled under the RBIs Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) rules. The money sent to buy US stocks must be within the $250,000 LRS limit and TCS is applied if the total exceeds \u20b910 lakh in a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the_US_market_timing_you_need_to_know\"><\/span><strong>the US market timing you need to know<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Limit orders can be placed anytime. Many US brokers cancel GTC orders after 30, 60 or 90 days. This helps if a specific price is planned and placing the order again is not needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stop-Limit Order: This combines a stop order and a limit order. When the stop price is reached the order becomes a limit order at the set price. It gives control than a simple stop order but it might not happen if the stock jumps past the limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One-Cancels-the-Other (OCO): An OCO order pairs two orders. If one happens the other is automatically removed. This is used often to set a profit goal and a stop-loss at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what_retail_investors_should_take_from_this\"><\/span><strong>what retail investors should take from this<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The limit order gives investors control over the price they buy or sell a US stock.
