She is a doyen in the non-profit sector and currently works as the Executive Director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)\u2019s South Asia regional center (learn more about the exciting work J-PAL are doing in India <a href=\"https:\/\/www.povertyactionlab.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here).<\/a> We spoke to Shobhini about her experience with Kuvera, India\u2019s friendliest Direct Plan Investment Platform.<\/p>\n<p><em>Emphasis and links are ours.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_did_you_learn_about_us\"><\/span>How did you learn about us?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I was looking at online portals to invest through and chose Kuvera for ease of use and goal planning.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_have_you_usually_saved_invested_your_money\"><\/span>Where have you usually saved \/ invested your money?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I&#8217;ve not been a systematic investor and usually invested in mutual funds and fixed deposits whenever friends and family advised me to.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Did_you_know_about_Direct_Plans_before\"><\/span>Did you know about Direct Plans before?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Despite having a few mutual fund investments, I had no idea about <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.kuvera.in\/direct-plans-better\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">direct plans,<\/a> commissions, or conflict of interest.&nbsp; Now that I understand what Direct Plans are, I am glad I found Kuvera and don&#8217;t have to go through a broker anymore. Coming from a non-profit background, I find the whole hidden commissions and advertising as \u201cfree\u201d scam very distasteful.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_goals_have_you_planned_for\"><\/span>What goals have you planned for?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I have a three-year-old daughter. So I am planning for her future while also saving for our retirement and travels.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Will_you_recommend_Kuvera_to_your_friends_and_colleagues\"><\/span>Will you recommend Kuvera to your friends and colleagues?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Definitely. The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.kuvera.in\/category\/goal-based-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">goal planning<\/a> and investment process has made me better prepared for the things I want in the future. It has also given me a sense of security that I am saving and investing enough. I like the guidance that Kuvera provides as it is easy to understand and quick to implement. As busy individuals (her husband is a lawyer) we usually <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.kuvera.in\/017-avoid-these-two-biases-to-increase-your-savings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">postpone the financial planning process<\/a> thinking we are making enough now and that it will be sufficient for the future. Well, as enjoyable as opening an investment account can be \u263a<\/p>\n<p>The account setup is completely online with no paper work and I liked the innovative use of selfie to do KYC. The goal planning was especially helpful &#8211; to think about future goals and including it in the investment process. Now that I we have started, I already feel better that regular investments are being made without any intervention on my part. The small initial effort to start investing feels totally worth it now. What really stood out about Kuvera is how much the senior management is invested with their clients.
