GST council extended concessional rates on drugs used in COVID-19 treatment till Dec 31 and slashed rates for lifesaving medicines, biodiesel products from 12% to 5%. Food delivery aggregators will now be liable to pay GST while petrol and diesel have not been included under the GST regime yet.

CPI Inflation rate eased to a 4-month low of 5.3% in August 2021, down from 5.59% in the previous month. In comparison, the retail inflation stood at 6.69% during August 2020.
