The BSE SENSEX (also known as the BSE 30) is a stock market index that represents the performance of 30 large and well-established companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in India. It is considered to be a barometer of the Indian economy and is widely tracked by investors globally. The index is calculated using free float market capitalization weighted methodology, where the level of the index reflects the total market value of all the companies in the index relative to a particular base period.
