The Government of India proposed to increase the STCG (Short-term Capital Gains) tax rate on equity oriented Funds from 15% to 20% and LTCG (Long-term Capital Gains) tax rate from 10% to 12.5% for FY 2024-25.
The Government of India has hiked the exemption limit to 1.25 lakh Rs for equity funds on LTCG tax from 1 lakh Rs effective for FY 2024-25.
